SERVICES OFFERED:

Personal property appraisals:

I am well versed in the valuation of personal property, and I have a network of specialists
to appraise those items which warrant outside consultation. My appraisals are professionally
prepared, with accompanying photographs, written in comprehensible terminology, and in
conformance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. My appraisals
are almost always finished within seven to ten days after I first see the property. I charge a
reasonable hourly fee, never contingent on the value of the property (rates listed below). Rush
appraisals are usually possible, for an extra fee. I do appraisals for estates and trusts, insurance,
divorce settlement, and property damage claims.

I have over 25 years of experience in appraising varying types of personal property, with
appraisals and property disposition being my sole source of income for the last thirteen years.
I have many years of experience in the numismatic and philatelic field, having once owned my
own retail store. I have also been the primary evaluator of pledged property at a pawn shop.
My principle clients include US Bank Trust Department, Allen Trust Company, and numerous
attorneys and trust departments in the Portland and Vancouver area.

Rates:
Appraisals, research, typing:
Rush jobs: written report needed in less than 1 week (minimum $100 extra)

Court, expert witness, testimony regarding one of my appraisals.

Cleanup, garbage disposal (2 workers, each additional $15.00 per hour)

$75 per hour
$20 per hour surcharge

$125 per hour
$50 per hour

Property disposition:

I use a multitude of disposition methods, depending on the needs and wants of your clients.
All sales are performed on a reasonable pre-negotiated percentage basis, varying with the
nature of the sale. I offer a full accounting of sales, commissions, and expenses once items
are sold, and have complete clean-up and disposal services available. I do not buy
anything from any of my sales, thus eliminating any conflict of interest concerns
you might have.

Estate (tag) sales:

I aggressively advertise my public sales, generating a large turnout and maximizing sales and prices realized. All items are individually tagged with a price, or generically priced with easy to read signage. All sales are run through a cash register, generating a receipt for my buyers. I accept credit cards, allowing my impulse buyers to spend more.

Auctions:

Many of my sales are conducted via auction over the internet, primarily eBay. I have very good feedback, and a large following that watch for my items, thus I get higher bids for many items than do other sellers.
I consign to other auctions when my experience has shown that particular items sells for a premium price at that venue.

Private Sales:

My private sales benefit from my knowledge of the high buyers for most items typically found in estates. This knowledge allows you to maximize the return for your client, with no work on your part. Often the amount realized using me to sell your items is higher, even after my commission, than you could have received selling on your own.
