Kathy's Estate & Moving Sales performs professional estate and moving sale services in the Portland Metro area and has done so since 1994. In over 24 years Kathy has conducted over 800 and counting well organized, clean, and well presented sales. Her knowledge, experience and expertise is sure to make your sale a success.
Kathy and her crew understand how overwhelming it can be for families who are faced with liquidating their or a loved one's lifetime accumulation of personal items and treasures. Kathy's patience, sensitivity and compassion offer her clients the comfort of knowing that the disposition of those items will be done in the most stress-free, caring and efficient manner possible.
Kathy's goal is to empty the house and get the best price for your items. Leftover items create several options that can be discussed and decided once the sale is over. They can recommend charities or other options for you.
Kathy's Estate & Moving Sales began in May 1994 as Shirley's Estate & Moving Sales and has a reputation for honesty, integrity and efficiency. Many of our sales are referrals from past clients, we are licensed, bonded, insured and an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau, attaining the highest rating.

Evaluate your sale

No up front costs.
Prepare your sale
Furniture will be cleaned, polished and organized.
Household items will be cleaned, displayed and priced at fair market value.
Jewelry and valuable items will be displayed in secure cases.
Research will be conducted on the internet. We also consult with other experts.
Conduct your sale
Advertise your sale; methods include use of our website with photos and full description of what is to be sold, address and times of the sale. We send out individual emails to our extensive email list in the early morning of the sale and list your sale on Estatesale-Finder at no charge to you. We also advertise in local newspapers when warranted. Street signage is used to offer complete coverage on the sale dates. Staff the sale to serve the customers and provide security for your house and items. Admit customers in an orderly manner to maintain security and a less crowded shopping environment. Maintain a neat and presentable sale. We are often complimented on our well organized and managed sales.
After the sale
Provide bookkeeping. Items sold are tallied on an inventory sheet listing items that have sold for $50.00 and over and presented to you within a reasonable time after the sale is completed.
We will be in need of a clean out crew after the first of next year. Our current crew is retiring. The criteria is as follows:
1. After our sales are complete, the house must be cleared of all left over items, with nothing left behind except items that are noted at each sale.
2. The house must be broom clean with all trash removed.
3. The sale must be cleared out within 1-2 days of completion of the sale (Monday - Tuesday after).
4. Qualified individuals must have the appropriate vehicles (trailer, pickup, etc), supplies (boxes, bags, etc.). We will assist with boxes if possible.

Also: Experienced part time help wanted, if interested please contact Kathy. Good sorting and organizational skills. Must be on call, when we work, you work. Weekends a must. We work 6-7 hours per day, 2-6 days a week. Must be honest and pass a background check. West side of Portland mostly, occasionally east side.
